AKL TAKES 1ST PLACE
DIVISION ONE GREEK SPORTS
2007 AND 2008 CHAMPIONS!
The men of AKL are now back to back Division 1 Champions.  Sports
are a large part of the AKL tradition and we have been fortunate
enough to come out on top the past two years.  This honor has been
a pride for the house and a winning tradition has become a normal
feeling, one in which the house would like to continue.

In this upcoming 2008-2009 school year AKL will be going for a three
peat as intramural champions.  AKL will have returning members in all
sports, but are looking for freshman to once again make a big impact
and help keep the house on top of the intramural world.  Football is
once again looking deep, with both A and B team in the running for a
title.  B team has been champions the two previous years and will
hopefully keep their streak alive.  Softball has been a pride of AKL
with many talented high school and junior college players on the team.
This year has many seniors graduating however with the B team
winning a championship and numerous talented freshmen coming in,
AKL looks to keep their winning softball tradition alive.

Volleyball has been a success of AKL in recent years, playing in the
championship games in both A and B team last year, as well as the
sand volleyball league.  Volleyball loses some talented seniors but is
also hopeful of some younger guys stepping up for the fraternity.
Basketball has been the most popular sport of AKL in past years, and
last year had three freshmen play A team basketball.  So with a very
young squad both A and B teams are hungry for a championship.

In the 2007-2008 year AKL won A team soccer with the help of many
talented seniors.  Soccer has graduated the most seniors from the
team and they went out in style with a tough run through the playoffs.
Their championship propelled AKL to clinch the overall Division 1
championship.  With many seniors leaving the younger guys are ready
to step up and carry on their tradition.  AKL will use a combination of
all years and some talented freshmen to keep their successful soccer
streak alive.

So while we have won two straight Division 1 championships in a row,
we are not looking in the past, but preparing for the future.  And we
will be ready next year to make a run at the three-peat!
